Scholarships

The Oconomowoc Community Choir Scholarship Fund began in 1996 with a grant from the Rahn family in memory of Rod Rahn, who was one of the music directors of the Choir. Since that time, the OCC has been raising additional funds to provide scholarships for the educational efforts of outstanding young people who are planning a career in music. To date, more than $20,000 has been awarded in 40 scholarships to very promising young people for their musical education.

Oconomowoc Community Choir Scholarships are awarded annually based on the funds the choir members raise through donations and summer concert ticket sales. The Rod Rahn Memorial Scholarship is presented annually from the proceeds of the generous original endowment. This year the choir has received a special contribution in the memory of Harriet Calhoun, from her family, to become a Keyboard Scholarship. The Special scholarships are a lasting and living way to celebrate the love of music that spread its notes through these special lives.  The choir board is happy to accept donations and set up special scholarships that an individual may designate for a particular type of scholarship, talent or memorial.

Scholarship recipients are invited to perform at the annual summer concert. We invite you to come see these young musicians and witness their level of talent and dedication. Just one concert will demonstrate to you the good this program is doing in the community thanks to the generous contributions of our sponsors and supporters.

Donations may be directed to the general scholarship fund or designated to the Rahn or Calhoun Scholarships. You may also consider starting your own as a memorial or special gift.
